Common questions you may have
A. Yes. Excel Driving School is an MTO - Approved Beginner Drivers Education (BDE) course provider.
A. When you have completed the course in its entirety and have passed all your lessons, Excel will send all of your course information to the MTO.
To get your completion documentation for your insurance company you need to go to any Service Ontario location to get a Driver's License History record or you can order it online at the MTO web site .
A. Pick-up and drop-off is available within the city limits. (South of the 401, East to the military base and Lasalle Secondary School, West to Amherstview).
A. In-class: It is the student’s responsibility to make up any classroom sessions missed. Students must complete all in-class lessons in order to be eligible for their certificate. Please check with our office to find available days to make up a missed class.
In-car: We ask that students give us 24-hours notice to cancel an in-car lesson with an instructor otherwise you may be charged a missed lesson fee for each lesson missed. The student will not be able to schedule another in-car lesson until the missed lesson is paid in full. It is the responsibility of the student to complete all lessons in compliance with the course outline and Ministry standards.
A. Yes. You can start the Beginners Driver Course up to 2 months before you turn 16 and/or before you obtain your G1 license. You can start by completing the in-class lessons first, then when you get your G1 and our office has this documentation, you may begin your in-car lessons.
A. Yes. If you have an instructor in mind that you would like to have teach you in-car lessons, you can ask our office if that instructor has availability to take you on. We do our best to accommodate any requests.
